Biography
Sue Chan is a production designer and art director. She was born in New York City and raised in central New Jersey. After studying design with a minor in East Asian Studies, she worked in architecture and theatre in San Francisco before entering film and television.
Her production design credits include Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), Where the Crawdads Sing (2022), Colossal (2017), The Half of It (2020) and Shirley (2020). Earlier in her career she served as supervising art director on Gone Girl (2014) and art director on Crazy, Stupid, Love. (2011) and Punch-Drunk Love (2002). Her debut as production designer was on Dancing in September (2000). She has also worked on Landscape with Invisible Hand (2023) and the series Patriot (2018).
Chan splits her time between Los Angeles and Connecticut.
