Biography
Sue Vertue is an English television producer. Born Susan Nicola Vertue on 21 September 1960 in Surrey, she is the daughter of producer Beryl Vertue. She began her career as a production manager in commercials before joining Tiger Television (later Tiger Aspect) in 1989 and starting to produce in 1991.
Her early credits include producing episodes of Mr. Bean (1990) and serving as producer on The Vicar of Dibley (1994). In 1999 she joined Hartswood Films, the company founded by her mother. She produced Coupling (2000), which was created by her husband Steven Moffat and drew on their relationship. The couple married in 1997 and have two children.
Vertue has continued to produce and executive produce series including Sherlock (2010), Dracula (2020), Inside Man (2022) and The Devil's Hour (2022).
