Biography
Susan Soon He Stanton is an American playwright, television writer and screenwriter. She is from Aiea, Hawaii, and of Korean and Chinese descent. She holds a BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and an MFA from Yale School of Drama.
Stanton worked as a writer and producer across all four seasons of the HBO series Succession (2018–2023). Her other television writing credits include episodes of Conversations with Friends (2022), Modern Love (2019), The Baby (2022) and Dead Ringers (2023). She has also written several plays that have been produced regionally in the United States and internationally.
For her work on Succession, Stanton received Primetime Emmy, Writers Guild of America and Peabody Awards. She is a two-time Sundance Institute Theater Lab Resident Playwright and has received fellowships including the Venturous Playwrights Fellowship and the Lark’s Van Lier Fellowship.
