Biography
Suzanne Baron (1927–1995) was a French film editor. She began her career in the early 1950s and worked across narrative features, documentaries and shorts for five decades.
Baron collaborated extensively with Louis Malle, editing fourteen of his films including The Fire Within (1963), Murmur of the Heart (1971), Lacombe, Lucien (1974), Atlantic City (1980) and My Dinner with Andre (1981). She also edited Jacques Tati’s Mon Oncle (1958), Volker Schlöndorff’s The Tin Drum (1979), and films by Werner Herzog and Margarethe von Trotta. Earlier in her career she worked with ethnographic filmmaker Jean Rouch and studied musique concrète.
