Biography
Tatanka Means is an American actor and comedian. He was born on 19 February 1985 in Rapid City, South Dakota, and is of Oglala Lakota, Omaha, Yankton Dakota and Diné descent. He is an enrolled member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe and grew up in Chinle, Arizona, on the Navajo Nation. He is the son of activist and actor Russell Means.
Means began acting in the mid-2000s and has appeared in films including The Host (2013), A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014), Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015), Killers of the Flower Moon (2023) as John Wren, and Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1 (2024) as Taklishim. His television credits include The Son (2017), Banshee, Outer Range and Echo (2024). He is also a stand-up comedian.
