Biography
Ted J. Kent (1901–1986) was an American film editor. Born Theodore John Kent on 6 October 1901 in Illinois, he worked on more than 150 films between 1927 and 1967, primarily at Universal Pictures.
He is known for editing Universal horror films including The Invisible Man (1933), Bride of Frankenstein (1935), Son of Frankenstein (1939), The Wolf Man (1941) and Creature from the Black Lagoon (1954). Kent edited nine films directed by James Whale. His other credits include My Man Godfrey (1936), Letter from an Unknown Woman (1948), Operation Petticoat (1959), That Touch of Mink (1962) and Father Goose (1964).
Kent received an Academy Award nomination for Best Film Editing for Father Goose.
