Biography
Thomas Francis Murphy is an American actor. Born in Dayton, Ohio in 1953, he worked in various jobs including as a house painter before beginning acting classes in his thirties while living in Little Rock, Arkansas. He trained with Shakespeare & Co. in Lenox, Massachusetts, and performed in off-off-Broadway productions in New York, including plays by Sam Shepard.
Murphy moved to New Orleans in 2013. His credits include recurring roles as Brion in The Walking Dead (2017–2018) and the Reverend Lewis in Salem (2014–2015), as well as appearances in True Detective (2014), 12 Years a Slave (2013), Free State of Jones (2016), Mindhunter (2017) and News of the World (2020) as Mr. Farley.
