Biography
Tim Dowd is a British television director. He began his career in production roles, working as first assistant director and unit manager on series including Supergran, Harry's Game and Robin of Sherwood.
From the late 1980s he directed episodes of Casualty (1986), Boon (1986), Heartbeat, Emmerdale (1972) and The Royal. He directed 187 episodes of Coronation Street (1960) between 1994 and 2018.
In 2019 Dowd was convicted of three counts of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity and one count of attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child; he received a two-year community order.
