Biography
Tim Fywell is an English television and film director. Born on 3 October 1951 in Fulham, London, he studied English at the University of Cambridge and began his career directing in fringe theatre before moving to the West End. He later trained at the BBC and transitioned to television in the late 1980s.
Fywell gained prominence directing episodes of the crime series Cracker (1993). His credits include literary adaptations such as Madame Bovary (2000) and Affinity (2008), and series episodes of Happy Valley (2014), River (2015), Grantchester (2014–2022) and The English Game (2020). Feature films include I Capture the Castle (2003) and Ice Princess (2005).
