Biography
Tom Held (31 August 1889 – 13 March 1962) was an Austrian-born American film editor. Born in Vienna, he worked in Hollywood from the silent era into the late 1930s, initially as an assistant director in the 1920s before moving into editing, primarily at MGM.
His credits include Tarzan the Ape Man (1932), Tarzan and His Mate (1934), San Francisco (1936), Conquest (1937) and Test Pilot (1938). He received two Academy Award nominations for Best Film Editing at the 11th Academy Awards, for The Great Waltz (1938) and Test Pilot.
