Biography
Tomas Milian (1933–2017) was a Cuban-born actor who held American and Italian citizenship. Born in Havana, he left Cuba in the 1950s and trained at the Actors Studio in New York before beginning his career in Italy in the late 1950s.
He appeared in numerous Italian films, including spaghetti westerns such as The Big Gundown (1966) and Django Kill... If You Live, Shoot! (1967), as well as crime films and comedies. He later returned to the United States and took supporting roles in films including JFK (1991), Amistad (1997) and Traffic (2000), in which he played Gen. Arturo Salazar. He also appeared in television series such as Oz and Law & Order.
