Biography
Tony Haygarth was an English actor known for his work in film, television and theatre. Born George Anthony Haygarth in Liverpool in 1945, he began his career in repertory theatre after early jobs as a lifeguard and psychiatric nurse, later appearing with the Royal Shakespeare Company, the National Theatre and the Old Vic.
His screen roles included Milo Renfield in Dracula (1979), Ivan in Clockwise (1986) and the voice of Mr. Tweedy in the animated film Chicken Run (2000). He was also familiar from television series such as Rosie (1977–1981), Where the Heart Is (1997–2002), Emmerdale (2008–2009), Midsomer Murders and Foyle's War. Haygarth received a Clarence Derwent Award in 1996 and an Olivier Award nomination for his stage work.
