Biography
Toranosuke Ogawa (also credited as 小川寅次) was a Japanese actor. He was born on 1 December 1897 in Tokyo and died on 29 December 1967.
He began his career on the stage as a child actor in shinpa theatre around 1902 and later joined the Shin Kokugeki troupe. He moved into film in the early 1950s and appeared in supporting roles in numerous productions, including several directed by Akira Kurosawa. His credits include Ikiru (1952), The Life of Oharu (1952), Seven Samurai (1954) as the grandfather of the kidnapped girl, Godzilla (1954) as the president of Southern Seas Salvage, I Live in Fear (1955), Street of Shame (1956), The Hidden Fortress (1958), and Sanjuro (1962).
