Biography
Valerie Curtin is an American actress and screenwriter. Born on 31 March 1945 in Jackson Heights, New York, she is the daughter of radio actor Joseph Curtin and a cousin of actress Jane Curtin. She attended Lake Erie College.
Curtin began her writing career in the 1970s with an episode of the television series The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She co-wrote the screenplays for ...And Justice for All (1979), which received an Academy Award nomination, Inside Moves (1980), Best Friends (1982) and Toys (1992), often in collaboration with her then-husband Barry Levinson, to whom she was married from 1975 to 1982.
Her acting credits include the role of Vera in Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore (1974), Miss Milland in All the President's Men (1976), and appearances in Silver Streak (1976), Silent Movie (1976), Down and Out in Beverly Hills (1986) and the series ER (1994) and Frasier (1993).
