Biography
Vincent Macaigne is a French actor, theatre director, film director, screenwriter and playwright. He was born on 19 October 1978 in Paris and trained at the Conservatoire national supérieur d'art dramatique (CNSAD) from 1999 to 2002. He staged his first play in 2004 and has worked extensively in theatre as an actor, writer and director.
Macaigne is known for film roles including Julien in C'est la vie! (2017), Samuel in The Innocents (2016), Léonard in Non-Fiction (2018), and Doctor Fointainebleau in Maria (2024). He received César Award nominations for Most Promising Actor for his performance in La Fille du 14 juillet (2014). His short film What We'll Leave Behind (2012) won the Grand Prix at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival and was nominated for a César Award.
His feature directorial debut, Dom Juan (2015), an adaptation of the Molière play, screened at the Locarno International Film Festival.
