Biography
Vincent Piazza is an American actor. Born on 25 May 1976 in Middle Village, Queens, New York City, he was raised in the area and is of Italian and German descent. He initially played Division I ice hockey at Villanova University before a shoulder injury ended his sporting career after one year.
Piazza then trained with acting coach Alice Spivak and joined the TerraNOVA Collective theatre group in New York. He appeared in several off-Broadway productions before making his screen debut in the 2006 film Stephanie Daley. Early television roles included appearances in The Sopranos and Rescue Me.
He is best known for portraying Charles 'Lucky' Luciano in the HBO series Boardwalk Empire (2010–2014) and as Tommy DeVito in the 2014 film Jersey Boys, directed by Clint Eastwood. Other credits include Rocket Science (2007), The Passage (2019) and Tulsa King (2022). He has been part of Screen Actors Guild Award-winning ensembles for Boardwalk Empire.
