Biography
Warren Skaaren (1946–1990) was an American screenwriter and film producer. He graduated from Rice University in 1969 and served as the first executive director of the Texas Film Commission from 1970 to 1974, where he helped attract numerous productions to the state, including The Getaway (1972).
Skaaren later worked as a script doctor in Hollywood. His credits include the screenplay for Fire with Fire (1986), a draft for Top Gun (1986, for which he was credited as associate producer), co-writing the screenplay for Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), sharing screenplay credit with Michael McDowell on Beetlejuice (1988), and sharing screenplay credit with Sam Hamm on Batman (1989). He died of cancer in Austin, Texas.
