Biography
Will Finn is an American animator, writer, storyboard artist and director. Born in New York City in 1958, he trained at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh and began working in animation in the 1970s.
He contributed to Don Bluth’s The Secret of NIMH (1982) as a writer on the story adaptation and as an animator. At Disney he supervised animation for characters including Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast (1991), Iago in Aladdin (1992) and Laverne in The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), and worked on films such as Pocahontas (1995) and The Rescuers Down Under (1990). Finn co-wrote and directed the feature Home on the Range (2004) and has contributed story work to later projects including Over the Hedge (2006) and Free Birds (2013). He is a cousin of voice actor Bob Bergen.
