Biography
William Henry is a film and television editor, also credited as Bill Henry or William Henry II. He graduated from Bates College in 1985 and began his career as an apprentice film editor in Los Angeles, with an early credit on the 1986 feature True Stories. He worked as an assistant and associate editor on several films before moving to New York in the mid-1990s and shifting focus to television.
Henry is known for his work as editor on the HBO series Succession (2018–2023), for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award for the season-two finale. His other editing credits include Dickinson (2019–2021), The Gilded Age (2022), Quantico (2015) and the 2026 series His & Hers. Earlier in his career he served as first assistant editor on Air America (1990) and associate editor on the HBO miniseries Angels in America (2003).
He has spoken about applying skills developed on the musical series Smash (2012) to the dinner-table sequences in Succession.
