Watch what Wilson Bethel does with an ordinary chore. In the third series of Daredevil (2018), Benjamin Poindexter vacuuming his flat gives a troubled antagonist a habit we can recognise. It helps us understand him without asking us to excuse him. Bethel brings the same care to Bullseye's throwing movements, using his tennis experience to make the action physically precise. Those details are useful in a part that could easily become nothing but threats and violence.
Poindexter marks a useful turn in a career built largely on television. Generation Kill (2008) preceded the wider notice he found as Wade Kinsella in Hart of Dixie (2011–2015). Mark Callan in All Rise (2019–2023) fits the recurring legal and law-enforcement work. The return to Poindexter in Daredevil: Born Again (2025) gives us the clearest reason to seek him out: a part that makes good use of his physical skill.
Daredevil: Born Again gives that skill a useful setting, even when the writing settles for the familiar. We winced at the fights because the blows still look as though they hurt. Bethel's precision belongs in a series that takes such care over the impact of violence. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio remain our chief reasons to recommend it, with Bethel's action work a further reason to stay. The uneven pacing is a problem none of the actors can solve by working harder.
UNTAMED (2025), in which he plays Shane Maguire, is harder to recommend. Eric Bana and Lily Santiago make an engaging investigative pair, but the mystery depends on familiar detours and forced turns. The Yosemite scenery makes a stronger impression than the case, and Bethel's presence does not change our mixed verdict. For Bethel in action, choose Daredevil: Born Again, with some patience for the plotting.
Biography
Wilson Bethel is an American actor. He made his screen debut as Brad in an episode of the teen drama series The O.C. (2003). Subsequent guest appearances included JAG, Cold Case and NCIS, and he portrayed Corporal Evan 'Q-Tip' Stafford in the miniseries Generation Kill (2008).
Bethel is known for recurring and main roles including Ryder Callahan on the soap opera The Young and the Restless (2009–2011), Wade Kinsella on Hart of Dixie (2011–2015), and Mark Callan on All Rise (2019–2023). He played Benjamin 'Dex' Poindexter / Bullseye in the third season of Daredevil (2018) and reprised the role in Daredevil: Born Again (2025–present). In 2025 he appeared as Shane Maguire in the series UNTAMED.
