Biography
Yūichirō Saitō is a Japanese film producer. He is the founder and president of Studio Chizu, which he established with director Mamoru Hosoda in 2011.
Saitō studied in the United States before joining the animation studio Madhouse in 1999, where he worked on projects under producer Masao Maruyama. He produced Hosoda's The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2006) and Summer Wars (2009) at Madhouse. After leaving the studio, he co-founded Studio Chizu and has since produced Hosoda's films exclusively, including Wolf Children (2012), The Boy and the Beast (2015), Mirai (2018) and Belle (2021).
Saitō was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature for Mirai.
