Biography
Zinzi Coogler (née Evans) is an American film producer. She served as lead producer on the horror film Sinners (2025), for which she shared a Golden Globe Award for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture. She was executive producer on Judas and the Black Messiah (2021) and Creed III (2023).
Coogler co-founded the production company Proximity Media with her husband, filmmaker Ryan Coogler, and producer Sev Ohanian. The company has produced projects including Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021), Stephen Curry: Underrated (2023), Ironheart (2025) and Eyes of Wakanda (2025). She previously worked as an American Sign Language interpreter and studied communicative sciences and deaf studies at California State University, Fresno.
