Biography
Aidan Quinn is an American actor. He was born on 8 March 1959 in Chicago, Illinois, and made his film debut in Reckless (1984). He has appeared in numerous feature films, including The Mission (1986), Legends of the Fall (1994), Michael Collins (1996) as Harry Boland, Practical Magic (1998) and Unknown (2011).
On television, Quinn played Captain Thomas Gregson in the CBS series Elementary (2012–19). He received Primetime Emmy Award nominations for the television films An Early Frost (1985) and Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee (2007). He won an Irish Film and Television Award for Best Supporting Actor for The Eclipse (2009) and has been nominated four times for IFTA awards.
Quinn was raised partly in Ireland and trained at the Piven Theatre Workshop. His brother Declan Quinn is a cinematographer.
