Biography
Alan Myerson is an American film and television director. Born on 1 July 1940 in Edinburgh, Scotland, he began his career in theatre in New York before directing at The Second City in Chicago. In 1963 he co-founded the improvisational comedy troupe The Committee in San Francisco.
Myerson directed feature films including Steelyard Blues (1973), Private Lessons (1981) and Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach (1988). He has directed numerous television episodes for series such as Frasier (1993), Friends (1994), Boy Meets World (1993), Gilmore Girls (2000), Ally McBeal (1997) and The Larry Sanders Show (1992). He received Emmy, Directors Guild of America and CableACE Award nominations for his work on The Larry Sanders Show.
