Biography
Albert S. Ruddy was a Canadian-born American film and television producer. Born in Montreal on 28 March 1930, he died in Los Angeles on 25 May 2024. He produced The Godfather (1972) and Million Dollar Baby (2004), both of which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Ruddy co-created the CBS sitcom Hogan's Heroes (1965–1971) with Bernard Fein. He later produced The Longest Yard (1974) and the Cannonball Run films (1981 and 1984). During production of The Godfather, he negotiated with the Italian-American Civil Rights League to address concerns about the film's portrayal of Italian Americans.
