Biography
Aldo Sambrell, born Alfredo Sánchez Brell, was a Spanish actor, director and producer. He appeared in more than 150 films from 1961 to 1996, frequently playing supporting roles as villains or gang members.
Born in Vallecas, Madrid, on 23 February 1931, Sambrell moved to Mexico as a child when his parents were exiled. There he played professional football for Puebla F.C., known as Madrileño Sánchez, and later for C.F. Monterrey. After returning to Spain he played for Alcoyano and Rayo Vallecano before entering acting.
He became known for roles in Sergio Leone's spaghetti westerns, including Cuchillo in For a Few Dollars More (1965), a Rojo gang member in A Fistful of Dollars (1964), a member of Angel Eyes' gang in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966) and a gunman in Once Upon a Time in the West (1968). He died in Alicante on 10 July 2010.
