Biography
Ashley Walters is a British actor and director, also known by his stage name Asher D. Born on 30 June 1982 in London, he began his career as a rapper with the UK garage group So Solid Crew before moving into acting.
Walters is best known for his lead role as Dushane Hill in the crime drama series Top Boy (2011–2023). His other acting credits include appearances in Doctor Who (2005), Stormbreaker (2006), Get Rich or Die Tryin' (2005) and Adolescence (2025).
Walters has also directed, including three episodes of the series A Thousand Blows (2025), five episodes of Ackley Bridge (2022) and the short film Boys (2021). His feature directorial debut Animol is scheduled for 2026.
