Biography
Aubrey Mather (17 December 1885 – 16 January 1958) was an English character actor. He began his stage career in 1905, making his London debut in Brewster's Millions in 1909 and appearing on Broadway in Luck of the Navy in 1919. He entered films with Young Woodley in 1930 and frequently played butlers and similar supporting roles.
Mather appeared in numerous British and Hollywood productions through the 1940s and early 1950s. His credits include Ball of Fire (1941), Mrs. Miniver (1942), Random Harvest (1942) as Sheldon, Heaven Can Wait (1943), Jane Eyre (1943), National Velvet (1945) and The Importance of Being Earnest (1952). He died in Harrow, London.
