Biography

Austen Spriggs (1928–2013) was a British production designer and art director. He was born in Devonshire, England, and worked extensively in British film and television from the late 1940s onwards.

His credits include production design on the BBC television adaptations Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (1979) and Smiley's People (1982), as well as the feature films Hamburger Hill (1987), My Left Foot (1989) and Robin Hood (1991). He received three BAFTA Award nominations.
