Biography

Babaloo Mandel is an American screenwriter and producer. Born Marc Alan Mandel on 13 October 1949 in New York City, he attended Queens College before moving to Hollywood in 1972. There he met his long-time writing partner Lowell Ganz.

Mandel began his career writing for episodic television comedies including Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days. With Ganz he went on to write feature films such as Night Shift (1982), Splash (1984), Parenthood (1989), City Slickers (1991), and A League of Their Own (1992). Their work on Splash earned an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
