Biography
Ben Foster (born 1977) is a British composer, orchestrator and conductor. He studied composition and conducting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 2000 and receiving the Lutosławski composition prize, and is a graduate of the National Film and Television School.
Foster composed the music for the first three series of the BBC drama Torchwood (2006–2009). He worked as orchestrator and conductor for Murray Gold on Doctor Who from 2005 to 2015, and has served as conductor or orchestrator on numerous films and television productions, including Prometheus (2012) and The Grey (2011). His Torchwood scores received three BAFTA Cymru nominations for Best Music.
