Biography

Bernie Casey was an American actor and former professional American football player. Born Bernard Terry Casey on 8 June 1939 in Wyco, West Virginia, he was a wide receiver in the NFL for the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams after starring in football and track at Bowling Green State University. He made his film debut in Guns of the Magnificent Seven (1969) and appeared as Peters in The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976).

Casey became prominent in 1970s blaxploitation films and later took supporting roles in Never Say Never Again (1983), Revenge of the Nerds (1984), Spies Like Us (1985), Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) and Under Siege (1992). He also appeared in television series including Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Babylon 5. He won an NAACP Image Award for his performance in Maurie (1973). Casey died on 19 September 2017 in Los Angeles.
