Biography

Bill Damaschke is an American film executive and producer. Born on 20 November 1963 in Chicago, Illinois, he began his career in production management on live-action films including Ghostbusters (1984), Weird Science (1985) and Mr. Mom (1983).

He moved into animation, working first at Walt Disney Animation Studios before spending twenty years at DreamWorks Animation, where he rose to chief creative officer. In that role he oversaw releases including Shark Tale (2004), Over the Hedge (2006) and Kung Fu Panda (2008), as well as DreamWorks theatrical productions such as Shrek the Musical.

Damaschke later served as president of Skydance Animation and is currently president and chief creative officer of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. He has also produced the Broadway musical The Prom and its 2020 film adaptation.
