Biography

Brendan Galvin is an Irish cinematographer. He trained at the Dublin Institute of Technology and began his career as a trainee and clapper loader on films including The Commitments (1991) and The Crying Game (1992). His first feature as director of photography was Rat (2000).

Galvin has worked frequently with director Tarsem Singh and has shot features such as Behind Enemy Lines (2001), Flight of the Phoenix (2004), Immortals (2011), Mirror Mirror (2012), Escape Plan (2013), Self/less (2015), Rambo: Last Blood (2019), Unhinged (2020) and Plane (2023). Television credits include episodes of Westworld (2016) and Good Behavior (2017). He served as cinematographer on Mutiny (2026).

He received Irish Film and Television Award nominations for best cinematography on Flight of the Phoenix and Veronica Guerin (2003).
