Biography

Bríd Brennan is an Irish actress born in 1955 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. She began her career in Dublin, performing at the Abbey and Gate theatres, and has worked extensively in theatre, film and television.

She originated the role of Agnes in Brian Friel's Dancing at Lughnasa, winning the 1992 Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Play, and reprised it in the 1998 film adaptation. She received Olivier Award nominations for Rutherford and Son (1995), The Little Foxes (2002) and The Ferryman (2018).

Brennan's screen credits include Excalibur (1981), Shadow Dancer (2012), Brooklyn (2015) as Miss Kelly, Florence Foster Jenkins (2016), Calm with Horses (2020) and A Talent for Murder (2026) as Kathryn Grierson. She has appeared in series such as Peaky Blinders, Unforgotten and Hope Street.
