Biography
Buster Brodie was an American actor who appeared in numerous films, primarily in uncredited bit parts. Born Max Broida in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, he worked as a circus clown and in vaudeville before entering films in the mid-1920s. He was often cast in roles that exploited his distinctive bald appearance and short stature.
His credits include the Bald Party Guest in City Lights (1931), the Pig Man in Island of Lost Souls (1932), a Winged Monkey in The Wizard of Oz (1939), a migrant in The Grapes of Wrath (1940), and a townsman in To Be or Not to Be (1942). He continued working in supporting roles through the 1940s.
Brodie died in Hollywood, California, in 1948.
