Biography
Buzz Feitshans, born Frederick Rollin Feitshans III on 17 January 1937 in Los Angeles, is an American film producer. He graduated from the University of Southern California in 1962 with a degree in education and began his career as a film editor at the American Broadcasting Company. In 1964 he joined American International Pictures, where he served as head of the editorial department for ten years.
Feitshans made his debut as a producer with Dillinger (1973), written and directed by John Milius. He collaborated frequently with Milius and later with Carolco Pictures on action films including Conan the Barbarian (1982), First Blood (1982) and its sequels Rambo: First Blood Part II (1985) and Rambo III (1988), Red Dawn (1984) and Total Recall (1990). He also worked as executive producer on Tombstone (1993) and Die Hard with a Vengeance (1995).
In 1988 Feitshans became executive vice president of production at Carolco Pictures. He joined Cinergi Productions in 1992 and retired from film production in 1997. He is the son of film editor Fred R. Feitshans Jr. and the father of cinematographer Buzz Feitshans IV.
