Biography

Michael Ironside is a Canadian actor. Born Frederick Reginald Ironside on 12 February 1950 in Toronto, Ontario, he attended the Ontario College of Art and began acting in the late 1970s after writing and producing plays as a teenager.

He gained recognition for his role as Darryl Revok in Scanners (1981) and appeared as Jester in Top Gun (1986). He played Richter in Total Recall (1990) and Lieutenant Jean Rasczak in Starship Troopers (1997). Other credits include The Machinist (2004), Terminator Salvation (2009) and Nobody (2021). He has also worked extensively as a voice actor.

Ironside has received nominations for Gemini Awards, a Genie Award and a Canadian Film Award.
