Biography
Seymour 'Buzz' Kulik (23 July 1922 – 13 January 1999) was an American film and television director and producer. After serving in the US Army during the Second World War, he worked in the mail room at the J. Walter Thompson advertising agency in New York. He later directed cameras at Yankee Stadium before moving into live television in the early 1950s. Kulik relocated to Los Angeles in 1953.
He directed episodes of numerous series, including Playhouse 90, Perry Mason (1957), Gunsmoke (1955), Have Gun – Will Travel (1957), Rawhide (1959) and a dozen instalments of The Twilight Zone (1959). Kulik also directed the pilot of The Defenders. His made-for-television films included Brian's Song (1971).
Kulik's feature films include Villa Rides (1968), The Hunter (1980) and Bad Ronald (1974). He also directed miniseries such as Around the World in 80 Days (1989).
