Biography
Ted Post (31 March 1918 – 20 August 2013) was an American film and television director. Born in Brooklyn, New York, he began his career in the theatre before directing for television from the early 1950s.
He directed episodes of many series, including The Twilight Zone (1959), Gunsmoke (1955), Perry Mason (1957), Rawhide, Columbo (1971) and 178 episodes of Peyton Place.
Post's feature films include the Clint Eastwood western Hang 'Em High (1968), the Planet of the Apes sequel Beneath the Planet of the Apes (1970), the Dirty Harry sequel Magnum Force (1973) and Go Tell the Spartans (1978).
