Biography
Caitríona Balfe is an Irish actress. She was born on 4 October 1979 in Dublin and studied drama at the Dublin Institute of Technology before beginning a modelling career in Paris at the age of eighteen. She worked with brands including Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana and Marc Jacobs for approximately ten years.
Balfe returned to acting in the late 2000s. Her television work includes the role of Claire Randall Fraser in the series Outlander (2014–). Film credits include Super 8 (2011), Now You See Me (2013), Escape Plan (2013), Money Monster (2016), Ford v Ferrari (2019) as Mollie Miles, and Belfast (2021). She is also credited in the forthcoming films Sense and Sensibility (2026) as Mrs Dashwood and Tenzing (2026) as Jill Henderson.
