Biography

Christian Sprenger is an American cinematographer and television producer. He was born on 17 June 1985 in Hollywood, Florida, and studied at Columbia College Chicago.

He is best known for his long collaboration with director Hiro Murai, serving as director of photography on Atlanta (2016–2022), Guava Island (2019), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2024) and Widow's Bay (2026). He has also worked on GLOW (2017), Station Eleven (2021), The Rental (2020) and Brigsby Bear (2017). On Widow's Bay he shared cinematography duties and received a producer credit.

Sprenger has won multiple Primetime Emmy Awards for cinematography, including for episodes of Atlanta, and has received further nominations for his work on GLOW, Station Eleven, Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Widow's Bay.
