Biography

Claudia Castello is a Brazilian-American film editor. She grew up in Copacabana, Brazil, where she competed as a professional bodyboarder before studying journalism at FACHA in Rio. After graduating in 2002, she moved to the United States to learn English and took community college courses in broadcast and film. She later earned an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California in 2011.

Castello began her editing career assisting at a commercial production company in Venice, California. She is known for her work as editor on Fruitvale Station (2013), Creed (2015), Prey (2022) and additional editor on Black Panther (2018), having collaborated with director Ryan Coogler on several projects. She has also edited Roxanne Roxanne (2017), Sergio (2020) and Rosario (2025). Her credits include a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Picture Editing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Prey.
