Biography

Coleman Hough was a writer, playwright and poet. She received solo screenplay credit on Steven Soderbergh’s improvisational features Full Frontal (2002) and Bubble (2005).

Born Coleman Ann Hough on 26 February 1961 in Charleston, South Carolina, she had plays produced at Los Angeles theatres including Theatre of N.O.T.E. and Padua Playwrights, and her poems appeared in Southern Poetry Review, The Louisville Review and The Brooklyn Rail. She taught writing and performance workshops at several institutions. Hough died on 24 February 2024 at the Actors Fund Home in Englewood, New Jersey, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.
