Biography

Gregory Jacobs, also credited as Greg Jacobs, is an American film director, assistant director, producer and screenwriter. Born on 14 August 1968 in Harrington Park, New Jersey, he trained at the Tisch School of the Arts and began working as an assistant director in the late 1980s.

He has collaborated extensively with Steven Soderbergh, serving as first assistant director and later producer on films including The Girlfriend Experience (2009), The Informant! (2009), Haywire (2011), Magic Mike (2012), Side Effects (2013), Behind the Candelabra (2013), Logan Lucky (2017), Let Them All Talk (2020), Magic Mike's Last Dance (2023) and Black Bag (2025). As a director he has made Criminal (2004), which he also wrote and produced, Wind Chill (2007) and Magic Mike XXL (2015).
