Biography
Conleth Hill is an Irish actor born on 24 November 1964 in Ballycastle, County Antrim, Northern Ireland. He trained at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, graduating in 1989, and has performed on stage in the UK, Ireland, Canada and the US.
Hill won two Laurence Olivier Awards, for Best Actor in Stones in His Pockets (2001) and Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical in The Producers (2005), and received two Tony Award nominations. He is best known for portraying Lord Varys in the HBO series Game of Thrones (2011–2019). His film credits include Whatever Works (2009), Salmon Fishing in the Yemen (2011), Serena (2014) and Official Secrets (2019) as Roger Alton.
