Biography
Dan McGrath was an American television writer. After working with the Harvard Lampoon, he joined the writing staff of Saturday Night Live in 1991, where he worked for two seasons and received an Emmy nomination in 1992.
He contributed to The Simpsons as a story editor on 50 episodes between 1992 and 1994 and as a producer on 24 episodes from 1996 to 1998. His writing credits included "The Devil and Homer Simpson", "Time and Punishment" and "Bart of Darkness"; he won a Primetime Emmy Award in 1997 for the episode "Homer’s Phobia".
McGrath later spent eight years on King of the Hill, receiving writing credits on 11 episodes and producing credits on 28. He also wrote for Mission Hill, The PJs, Muppets Tonight and Gravity Falls, and received a Writers Guild of America Award nomination for the King of the Hill episode "Life: A Loser's Manual". He died in 2025.
