Biography
Dan Sterling is an American screenwriter and television producer. He began his career as a staff writer on the first season of South Park (1997) and went on to write for King of the Hill (2002–2006). He later served as a writer and producer on series including The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Sarah Silverman Program (where he was also a director and executive producer), Girls and the final season of The Office (2005).
Sterling co-wrote the screenplay and story for the feature film The Interview (2014) and the screenplay and story for Long Shot (2019). He is the co-creator, writer and executive producer of the series Animal Control (2023–present). He trained at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts after attending Germantown Friends School in Philadelphia.
