Biography
Dana Coen is a television writer and producer. His credits include writing episodes of NCIS (2004–2006) and Bones (2005), on which he also served as co-executive producer. He spent eight seasons on JAG (1995–2005) as co-executive producer, supervising producer and writer of thirty-seven episodes, and contributed to earlier series including Silk Stalkings, Room for Two, Carol & Company and The Wonder Years.
Coen is director of the Writing for the Screen and Stage Program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. A former New York actor and director, he holds an MFA in playwriting from UCLA and has written and produced plays staged in Los Angeles and New York. He received a comedy development deal with Walt Disney Studios and has written pilots for several networks and studios. Awards include the 2021 Silver Bullet Screenplay Award for his feature script Sleeping Upright.
