Biography
Daniel Massey (10 October 1933 – 25 March 1998) was an English actor. Born in London to actors Raymond Massey and Adrianne Allen, he was the godson of Noël Coward and brother of actress Anna Massey. He was educated at Eton College and King's College, Cambridge.
Massey made his film debut as a child in In Which We Serve (1942). He worked extensively in theatre, including with the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Royal National Theatre, and appeared in Broadway productions such as She Loves Me (1963). His screen roles include Noël Coward in Star! (1968), for which he received a Golden Globe Award and an Academy Award nomination; the lead in the television series The Roads to Freedom (1970); and Grosvenor in G.B.H. (1991). Other credits include Escape to Victory (1981), Scandal (1989) and In the Name of the Father (1993).
